Terms and Conditions

Terms and Conditions
These terms apply to the use of this website and to quotes provided by APL Shippers. By submitting an enquiry you confirm that you have read and accept them.
1. Our role
APL Shippers arranges international express shipping with third-party courier companies. We are not a courier and we do not operate aircraft, vehicles or delivery networks. The physical carriage of a shipment is performed by the courier, subject to that courier’s own terms and conditions of carriage, which apply to the shipment alongside these terms.
2. Quotes
Quotes are prepared using the information you provide. They are indicative until a booking is confirmed, and may be revised if the shipment differs from what was described — for example if the actual weight, dimensions, contents or addresses are different.
Couriers charge on the greater of actual weight or volumetric weight. Where a shipment is re-measured or re-weighed by the courier, charges may be adjusted accordingly, and any difference is payable by you.
3. Your responsibilities
- Provide accurate collection and delivery addresses and contact details.
- Describe the contents of the shipment accurately and completely.
- Declare a truthful value for the shipment.
- Ensure that the shipment is packed adequately for international transport.
- Ensure that the shipment does not contain prohibited items and that any restricted items have been declared and agreed in advance — see Prohibited and Restricted Items.
- Ensure that the export of the goods from the origin country and their import into the destination country is lawful, and provide any documentation required.
4. Prohibited and restricted goods
Shipments containing prohibited items may be refused, held, returned or disposed of by the courier or by the authorities, and any costs arising are your responsibility. Restricted items require review and, where applicable, correct declaration and packaging before a shipment can be accepted.
5. Delivery times
Transit times quoted by couriers are estimates, not guarantees. Customs inspection, weather, incomplete documentation, incorrect addresses and events outside our control can all affect delivery. APL Shippers does not guarantee delivery dates or customs clearance times.
6. Duties, taxes and charges
Unless a duty-paid (DDP) service has been expressly agreed for a shipment, import duties, taxes and any associated administration charges are payable by the receiver on arrival. Where such charges are not paid, they may be recharged to you together with any return or storage costs.
7. Liability
Liability for loss of or damage to a shipment in transit is governed by the terms of carriage of the courier handling it and by the international conventions that apply to that carriage, which typically limit liability by weight. Cover above those limits may be available where it has been arranged and paid for in advance of collection.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Subject to the above, APL Shippers is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, loss of business, or loss of anticipated savings.
8. Cancellation
A booking may be cancelled before collection, subject to any charges already incurred with the courier. Once a shipment has been collected, cancellation may not be possible and return charges may apply.
9. Website content
The content of this website is provided for general information about our services. It does not form part of any contract for a specific shipment, and it may change without notice. Courier names and trademarks shown on this website belong to their respective owners; their appearance does not imply any partnership, agency or endorsement.
10. Governing law
These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
