FAQs
Frequently asked questions
The questions we are asked most often about international express shipping, pricing and restricted items.

APL Shippers arranges international express shipping to destinations across the world through established global courier networks. Availability for a particular route depends on the courier services operating between the collection country and the destination country, and on what you are sending.
Enter your collection and destination details in the quote form and we will confirm the options that are available for your shipment.
Shipping options can include services operated by DHL, FedEx, UPS and TNT. The couriers available for any individual shipment depend on the route, the contents, the dimensions and weight, and the service level required.
Courier names and trademarks belong to their respective owners. APL Shippers is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an agent of those companies.
No. APL Shippers focuses on international express shipping and does not currently offer domestic shipping services.
No. Sea freight and ocean freight are not currently offered. Our service is international express parcel and courier shipping.
International express pricing depends on the collection location, the destination, the number of packages, the dimensions and weight of each package, the contents of the shipment and the service level selected.
Couriers charge on whichever is greater: the actual weight or the volumetric (dimensional) weight calculated from the package dimensions. That is why accurate measurements matter — a light but bulky box can cost more than a small heavy one.
Yes. We support international express shipping for parcels collected from suppliers and businesses in China. Provide the supplier or warehouse address, the number of cartons and the dimensions and weight of each carton in the quote form.
We can support eligible international deliveries to Amazon fulfilment centres where the shipment meets both the courier requirements and the fulfilment centre requirements, including labelling and booking rules.
Please include your shipment ID and carton details in the quote form so the requirements can be checked before anything is booked.
DDP stands for Delivered Duty Paid. On a DDP service the sender is responsible for import duties and taxes rather than the receiver.
DDP options may be available for qualifying destinations and shipments. Availability is confirmed per shipment — tick the DDP option in the quote form if you would like it reviewed.
Batteries and liquids are restricted and are handled case by case. Some items can travel on specific services with the correct declarations and packaging, and some cannot travel at all.
The quote form asks whether your shipment contains batteries or liquids. Please answer accurately — restricted items require individual review, and prohibited, restricted or dangerous goods may require further checks before a shipment can be accepted.
Quote requests are reviewed by a person rather than generated automatically, so the response time depends on the complexity of the shipment and when the request is received. Straightforward parcel shipments are usually the quickest to review.
We respond using the contact details you provide in the form, so please check they are correct before submitting.
Not automatically. Customs duties and taxes depend on the destination country, the contents and declared value of the shipment, and the service level chosen.
On a standard service, duties and taxes are normally payable by the receiver on arrival. If you would like duties to be paid by the sender instead, ask about DDP shipping in the quote form and we will confirm whether it is available for your route.
Booked shipments travel on tracked international express services. Once a shipment has been booked and collected you will be given the tracking number issued by the courier handling it.
You can enter that number on our Track Shipment page, or use it directly on the courier’s own tracking website.
You will need the collection city and country, the destination city and country, the number of packages, and the weight and dimensions of each package. You will also be asked what the shipment contains and its declared value.
The more accurate those details are, the more accurate the options we can offer. If measurements change before booking, let us know so the quote can be reviewed.
Question answered? Let’s price your shipment.
Send the details through and we will review the international express options available for your route.
